The Collector’s Weekend Arnhem is realised through a partnership with the support from local advisers, well versed with the Arnhem cultural climate and a great international team. Our approach is collaborating with local experts, Institutions, and Business with the know-how of the city’s needs and the important people vital for the strengthening of the position of the city and culture patrons. The core organising team is comprised of 3 people; Sithabile Mlotshwa from Southern Africa, whose years of experience in the arts field, as a Curator, Artist, Philanthropist and Art Collector, cover the African Continent, Scandinavia, West Europe, parts of North & South America, some parts of Asia-pacific countries, West Asia and South East Asia. LI Yuchen from China, whose years of experience in business cover South East Asia including the new bridge she’s building of cultural cooperation and exchange between the Netherlands and China. Kamila Elżbieta Wolszczak from Poland, with years of experience as a Curator for Performing Arts and Art Collector, working internationally brings with her, expertise on Contemporary art practice in East Europe. 

About Sithabile Mlotshwa

Sithabile, with a base in Arnhem but working internationally is an Independent Curator, Artist, Designer, Art Collector and Philanthropist who sees art as a catalyst for change, innovation and human advancement. She is the Producer and Artistic Director of IFAA Art Platform and Executive Director Thamgidi Foundation. Sithabile is also the producer of Art, Books en Wine, Green is Cool Design Platform, owner of IfaaContemporary Gallery, Co-producer and Curator 1st edition Yango Biennale and President of IFAAGlobal. Sithabile was 2010 Speaker at TEDxWomen Amsterdam and publicised in The Next Women (an Online Magazine For Female Business Heroes) as an inspirational woman. Her IFAA project was nominated for the 2016 TEDxAmsterdam Awards.

She was advisory board member of Gelder’s Balkon–Museum of Modern Art Arnhem, the Former Secretary general of ResArtis, an international, worldwide network of artists in residency programs, 2008 President of the Jury Dakart Biennale. She is publicised in Rebelle Art & Feminism 1969 -2009 catalogue of the Museum of Modern Art in Arnhem, which offers a retrospective, and a look at the Dutch women’s art movement, and pays particular attention, among other things to the role of Women in the Visual Arts Foundation, and the role of women artists in artists’ initiatives.

Sithabile has won several awards and was also selected for the Asia- Europe Network Training Program of Independent Autonomous Art Centers in Paris organised by Asia Europe Foundation, Trans Europe Halles & Art factories where she represented the Netherlands for the building of the Asia – Europe Network for Independent Cultural Centers.

About Lyra/Yuchen Li

LI Yuchen is a cultural program producer, project manager and visual artist based in Amsterdam.
Formerly the Corporate Account Manager of International Magazines in Thailand headquarters, she was in charge of premium marketing products of the world’s top publications such as TIME, FORTUNE, Forbes for the elite clientele in South East Asia, Yuchen brings her extensive experience in business development together with her passion in contemporary art.

She is the project coordinator for the solo exhibition “Kaleidoscope” by Dutch artist Rob Voerman in Ningbo Art Museum China in 2018, and the Two-Man exhibition “Dream Space” by Dutch artist Rob Voerman and Chinese artist Wang Fenghua in Xi’an Contemporary Art Museum in 2018. Yuchen is also the founder and organiser of Asian Movie Night, a bi-monthly movie screening event in Arnhem in collaboration with ArtEZ, Walter Books, B53 Art Space, just to name a few. Yuchen curated the Public Program Social Inclusion Workshops in ArtEZ which attracted a large audience from all across Netherlands with diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds from Indonesia, China, Japan all the way to Spain, Germany, Belgium, Mexico and Uganda.

Additionally, Yuchen was featured in numerous newspapers, radio and TV interviews for her published book entitled: 去全世界打打杂

(1st edition 4000 copies in 2015), such as China Youth Daily – one of the most influential national newspapers in China with a circulation of 5 million readers, MGTV – the biggest Mandarin TV channel in South East Asia etc.

About Kamila Wolszczak

A Visual and Performance artist, is also an Independent Curator and Art Collector based in Amsterdam but working internationally.

Kamila with her extensive know-how and expertise on Contemporary art practice in East Europe has also organised collective curatorial exhibitions in independent spaces – Universal Self- Supporting Exhibitions and is active in the performance art duo ‘PARAperformance’. Her solo and collaborative performance art projects were shown in many important contemporary art centers: AIL in Vienna, Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art, Warsaw, LUHOvaný Vincent Festival Moravy Czech Republic, Kunstsommer in Wiesbaden, Galeria H2O in Barcelona. Her visual art projects were presented in Muza space for art, Jaffa Tel Aviv, Baltic Gallery of Contemporary Art in Ustka, Miami New Media Festival in the US and many more places across the world.

In 2014 she received an award of the Polish Minister of Culture and Heritage, one year later she received from the Lubelskie Region the artistic award for best contemporary Polish artist. She was running an Art Studio during European Capital of Culture 2016 in Wrocław, Poland and she was Artist in Residence during European Capital of Culture 2018 in Leeuwarden.  She is founder of Art Ambulance, an international Audience Development Program, member of East European Performing Arts Platform and WYKWIT Art Gallery. Privately holding a large collection of art pieces from award winning international painters and sculptures.
